Even after the fall, the realms are still full of magic, and people who can weild that magic. Those that can control the magics of the realms have learned to master one or more of the varieties of spells that are known, and maybe even some that have yet to be discovered.
Here are some of the currently known forms of magic
Fire - Simple enough, control the elements of fire and extreme heat. These spells are usually devastating in power, as igniting foes and obstacles is a powerful method of winning. But, flames rarely can be used for defense.
Water - Another basic element of magic, controlling and manifesting water in all its physical states. If used correctly water spells can be very destructive like a tidal wave, or as gentle as a flowing stream.
Wind - Wind is yet another basic element of magic, it allows you to control the air around you, altering its movement or density. You can even, through great focus, use the wind to carry yourself and fly.
Earth - Mastery of earth magic allows you to control the very ground itself. You can alter the terrain or even form massive earthquakes and faults. Earth magic also makes for good protective spells as stones, rocks, sand, and other minerals make for good armor and walls.
Light - Light magic is a trickier form of magic to perfect. It usually has a wider range of uses though. People weilding this type of magic are usually that of some holy figure, or of a very good conscience, but there are exceptions. It can be used to create emmissions of light, heal wounds, or even call down divine wrath on your foes.
Darkness - Darkness is much like light magic, but oddly enough, is almost its opposite. Dark magic is usually used by darker or more twisted beings, but like light magic there are some exceptions. It harnesses more towards emitting energies that consume light leaving nothing but a black cloud, and uses the power of darkness to demolish those in your way.
Energy - Energy magic is in a class of its own. It has no real elemental force behind it. It is basically magic in its most basic form, harnessed into raw power and used to how the spellcaster sees fit. Energy magic has a small range of uses though, and focuses mainly on self empowering or attacks made out of the basic magic.
